How Axaro knows who invited
Discord does not say which invite a member used. Axaro keeps the use count of every invite and reads it again on each join: the one whose count went up is the right one. It is the only method there is, and the one every invite bot uses.
- A join through the server’s custom link is recognised as such.
- A single-use invite, which Discord deletes on first use, is still found.
- If two people join in the same second through two invites, or right after the bot restarts, the join is marked unknown rather than credited to the wrong person.
The counts
| Count | What it counts |
|---|---|
Regular | Invited people still on the server, with an old enough account |
Left | Invited people who have left since |
Fake | Accounts created less than N days ago (7 by default, adjustable, 0 for none) |
Bonus | Added or removed by hand by the staff |
The total (regular + bonus) is what counts for the leaderboard and the reward roles.
Commands
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/invites user | A member’s invites, and who invited them |
/invites leaderboard | The ten members who brought the most people |
/invites add | Add bonus invites (Manage Server) |
/invites remove | Remove invites (Manage Server) |
The log and the messages
Pick a log channel: every join is announced there with the inviter and their new total, and leaves too if you want. Without a channel, tracking goes on silently.
The messages can be customised. Left empty, Axaro writes its own in the server language.
| Variable | Becomes |
|---|---|
{user} | The member’s mention |
{username} | Their name |
{inviter} | Who invited them, or “custom link”, or “unknown” |
{invites} | The inviter’s total |
{code} | The code of the invite used |
{server} | The server name |
{memberCount} | The member count |
Reward roles
One role per milestone: “5 invites”, “20 invites”… The role is given as soon as the inviter’s total reaches it, on the next join or the next bonus.
The dashboard also has an Invites page: the full leaderboard and the last thirty joins, with the inviter and invite of each.
