Panels where everyone picks the roles that concern them.

Post a panel

A panel is built in the dashboard — an internal name, a title, a text, and up to twenty-five roles — then /roles posts it in the current channel. The panel name autocompletes as you type: there is no ID to remember.

Twenty-five roles is the limit of a Discord dropdown, not a choice of Axaro. Beyond that, you need a second panel.

What happens next

A panel keeps nothing in memory: its ID travels inside the menu itself. A panel posted six months ago still answers after any restart, without the bot having to read the channel history again.

A member’s choice only touches the panel’s roles. A language panel cannot remove a rank, even through a configuration mistake — the list of roles it manages is the only one it looks at.

A panel shows as a dropdown or as buttons. The dropdown holds any number of roles without changing size; buttons show everything at a glance and take one click instead of two, which is what you expect from a three-role panel. Twenty-five buttons at most: Discord only accepts five rows of five.

A button only shows its label. The details typed for each role are therefore moved into the panel text, rather than disappearing when switching layouts.

In “one role at a time” mode, clicking the button of the role you have again removes it. The dropdown cannot do that — Discord requires at least one choice there — and it is the only difference in behaviour between the two layouts.

Axaro can only give a role placed below its own. Out-of-reach roles disappear from the panel rather than failing on click: better a missing choice than one that does not work.
